Known as “The Light Lady” since 1986, Lynne Stambouly’s lighting career has spanned over 30 years. Getting her start in the early 80’s as a lighting rep, she has worked for lighting manufacturers; trained other lighting professionals around the country, owned her own lighting showroom, and has designed for some of the largest interior design firms in Southwest Florida. Lynne brings her enormous talent, passion and experience to Lighting First’s Specialty Lighting Division as Senior Lighting Designer. Lynne is extremely passionate about what she does and “fell in love” with lighting when she discovered the profound effects lighting has on the interior and exterior of homes: “My passion for lighting stems from how lighting effects people’s lifestyle, and how it makes them feel in their environment… I have a very keen understanding of what it takes to bring a lighting vision to reality in a client’s home, not just from an aesthetic lighting perspective, but also from a construction and electrical perspective as well (it is important to note here that Lynne is not only a seasoned lighting designer, but also has extensive knowledge, training and experience within the electrical field). In addition, Lynne is currently President of the Interior Design Society in Naples; she has been affiliated with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for over 15 years; and is also a founding member of the Advisory Counsel for the Interior Design School at Southwest Florida College. “The emergence of Light Emitting Diodes has been the biggest breakthrough in our industry presumably since the invention of the original Edison light bulb itself. In the beginning, LED lighting was almost exclusively used for automotive industry and in electrical appliances, but it has now moved into the mainstream for residential and commercial spaces. There are so many unique and creative energy-efficient products available on the market, with many more exciting new conceptual designs currently in development. Incorporating this new solid-state technology into high-end homes is certainly the most rewarding aspect of my lighting career at this point”.
Curtis is also a very active member of the Interior Design Society, and supports the lighting industry in various other ways.
